Welcome to Liberty Middle School! As the 2023- 2024 school year begins in a few short weeks we would like to start welcoming back returning families as well as those who are new to Liberty Middle School this year. It is very important to us that all our students encounter a welcoming environment as they begin this school year at Liberty. To help our students and families understand what will be happening in the upcoming weeks, we are providing as much information as possible ahead of time. We want you to have the opportunity to review the information with your student(s).

Student Supply List

All Liberty students will receive their laptop during the second week of school.  Students should bring their fully charged laptop to school every day.

Please note this is a general list of supplies for 7th and 8th grade students.  Individual teachers may have additional supply requirements. Each teacher will share their supply requirements at the beginning of the school year. 

New Student Orientation

Liberty’s "Leap into Liberty: New Student Orientation" will be held on Thursday, August 17th for ALL 7th grade students and any 8th grade students who are NEW to Liberty. The orientation is for students only and runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Upon arrival at Liberty, students will receive their schedules and then will follow to meet their teachers. 

Transportation for the orientation will be provided by FCPS school buses from feeder elementary schools. The schedule is as follows:

• Bull Run Elementary- 8:30 am 
• Centreville Elementary- 8:40 am
• Centre Ridge Elementary- 8:40 am
• Colin Powell- 8:40 am
• Union Mill Elementary- 8:45 am 

You may also drop your student off in Kiss and Ride at Liberty and pick up there as well. 

Please do not drop off prior to 8:50 am.

Liberty Live: Open House

The "Liberty Live: Open House" will be held on Thursday, August 17th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for ALL Liberty students (including returning 8^th graders) and their families. Liberty Live is an open house format for you to come when you can. This is an excellent opportunity for new families to start the process of becoming acquainted with Liberty Middle School.

Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R)

SR&R Signature Sheet will be due after students review the SR&R policies at school.

Transportation

Bus routes for the 2023-2024 school year will be sent to families via email directly from the Office of Transportation.
