New Grading Policy Update
2020-2021 New Grading Policy
The PDF below provides clarity on revisions we have made to our grading policy over the summer, both in preparation for virtual learning and to align with researched best practices around grading. These policies promote and focus on feedback for learning, rather than to be punitively focused on work completion or demonstrating mastery within a prescribed, rigid window of time. Every child and situation is unique and while we want our policy to include accountability for both learning and work completion, the policy should be flexible to produce the desired outcome of mastery for all. Grading should not simply be about ranking and sorting students into categories of “good student/bad student”, but rather support every student to be successful on their own path.
